Portrait Arikta Saha

Arikta Saha is a Phd student within the QUATTO network at the Low-Density Matter Beamline of FERMI Seeded FEL in Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, Italy. He completed his integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in India, from the Department of Physical Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata. During his master’s thesis, he worked on transient absorption with HHG and SASE FEL, and studied the Helium resonant state ionization dynamics within the group of Thomas Pfeifer.

His phd studies focuses on attosecond coherent control of photoelectron ionization dynamics of Helium and other noble gases, which is done by generating multiple harmonics of FEL, resulting in an attosecond pulse train and scanning them with IR/vis/UV photons in interferometric schemes like RABBITT to measure the atomic phase contributions near the resonances. His work duties at FERMI also includes setting up the beamline for user experiments, analysing the beamtime data, and doing some preliminary calculations.
