Gopika Nisha Gopalan

Gopika hails from the southern part of India, from the state of Kerala. She completed her five year Integrated MSc in Physics at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala. Her masters thesis focused on high harmonic generation in two dimensional materials using tailored laser pulses and precise control of valley selective excitations in transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers such as MoS₂ by manipulating the temporal properties of the interacting pulses.

In 2025, she joined the Attosecond and Strong Field Physics group led by Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Sansone, at University of Freiburg. Her PhD research focuses on developing novel attosecond metrology techniques based on nonlinear interactions between intense attosecond pulse trains in solids at seeded free electron lasers.
